Developing a Character for the Story: U9 (P6, M2)

 

Spike 

Colour Pallet:

Sophie - The colour pallet for Sophie represents a strong and powerful hero. In my comic she is a purple alien so she will be see with purple skin the connotations  of the is colour links to not only bravery which shows she is a confident hero but also links to the sci if genre as its otherworldly and mystical. She will be seen wearing a black suit this is simplistic which makes other features of herself stand out such as the fact she is purple. She will have piercing blue eyes as well which not only links to the sci-fi genre but also trust authority and stability. 

Spike - The colour pallet for Spike represents a loyal and strong companion to the hero. In my comic spike will be purple and green this not only links back to Sophie as they are from the same pallet so they are both purple but the green also links to the sci-fi genre and the green connotes to luck as they were lucky to be the last surviving people of from their planet. The dog spike will also have blue eyes too this links to the fact they are from the same planet and links to authority and stability and the sci fi genre. 

Features of Character:

Sophie - she will have medium long black hair this links to femininity of her as well as that it will flow nicely in action shots and looks more appealing from readers. The hair also helps her stand out within the comic. She will also have piercing blue eyes this not only helps her again stand out within the comic but also links to the sci fi genre. She also has the power of shooting energy beams from her hand that can kill villains.

Spike - spike has short hair as it need to be practical to help fight villains and therefore wont get in the way of any activity the dog needs to do. The dog will have green spikes that’s shoot out of his back onto the villains which can severely damage or kill villains, the spikes replenish from the back instantly so he is ready to shoot more. He also has piecing blue eyes as they are form the same planet which helps him stand out in the comic and links to the sci fi genre.

Clothing:

Sophie - She is wearing black suit which is tight and practical to fight or do any activity in it. This is taken inspiration from black widows outfit as its tight and practical for activity and therefore this gives her the connotations of a fearless women hero who is confident when fighting crime. She will also wear chunky boots which and ready to fight in and easy to move in.

Spike - This is a dog he doesn’t wear nay clothes therefore linking to the hybrid of dog alien as dogs dont wear clothes. 

Back story: The backstory of this is that Sophie and Spike live on a planet called Galactica that was a very famous planet but it was destroyed when she and Spike were little and their parents sent them on the last ship leaving before it blew up and they were the only two to survive from the planet. Due to the trauma and suffering they went through they vowed to help every planet in order to ensure no one ever goes through the pain they went through again and therefore they go to planets and help fight off villains.

Relationship:

Spike and Sophie get along like siblings they were brought up together and spike was the family pet before their planet blew up. They are very close as they are the only ones left of their kind and they like the same things and get on very well with each other. Both of them are very confident when fighting crime ass they want to avenge their planet that was destroyed, they don't like talking about their old planet because it makes them upset. They love meeting new people and making new friends.

Other Characters: 

Both Sophie and Spike do not like villains in this comic they ahve to fight and defeat Doctor Destroyer this evil villain who is using fire robots to destroy the planet they argue with him and fight with him. Doctor destroyer fills Propp theory character type as he is a villain and Sophie and Spike are the hero’s and therefore are binary opposites.

M2:

This page is dedicated to the different facial expression that will be within my comic. Number one will be used when she see the destruction that Doctor Destroyer has made this facial expression develops the storyline shows she is worried about the planet. Number two is a key part of the comic as it has a closeup panel within the story this shows character development as she is angry from Doctor Destroyer talking about her own planet so this shows her frustration and determination to beat him. Number 3 is used when the villager tells her what is happening as she is confused on how this destruction has happened. Number 4 will be used at the start of the comic before they have been told of the destruction. Number 5 will be used multiple times when she isn’t the focus of the panel. 

This page is dedicated to the different movement of Sophie within my comic. Number one will be used the most as when she is standing still she will not be the focus of the panel instead gives focus to the other characters. Number two will also be used to show movement of them going to fight Doctor Destroyer and helps with the development of storyline. Number three is a key part of the story as this is the fight scene and helps with character development as this is when you see Sophie powers. Number 4 is used at the very beginning when they are in the spaceship flying through space.
