Proposal:

The Purpose of the website:

There are many purposes to this website such as inform, educate and entertain. One of the purposes is to inform, this website informs the audience on the new film ‘Bionic Attack’ as well as the new Sci-Fi comic ‘The adventures of Sophie and Spike’. Another purpose of the website is to entertain, this is done by allowing the audience to buy merchandise as well as watching the trailer and being able to digitally access the comic. The last purpose is to educate, this is done by the audience being about to read about the scriptwriter as well as a synopsis of the comic, this allows for the audience to fully understand the comic and the film. 

Target Audience and their needs: 

The target audience for the film is 15-18 year old this means they need to be able to have easy navigation through the website so they don't get confused and as a result they need an easy layout. They also need more pictures than words this allows the audience to stay focused and engaged otherwise it would reach the target audience as a result descriptions will be brief yet effective and there will be lots of pictures to keep them entertained and engaged. The target audience for the comic is 12-15 this means its targeted slightly younger as a result people on the website will be invited for and easy sci-fi read, this also means I can have more mature content on the website as its targeted at an older audience. It is targeted at all genders and races and as a result reaches a wider target audience. 

Content Included:

One page of my website will be a trailer of the new film this allows the audience a direct link to the trailer and as a result encourages the audience to watch to intrigue and entertain them. Another page of my website will be about the scriptwriters this will give them all information about the film and how the script writers came to make the film. There will also be a homepage, this will allow people to navigate easily through the web pages. Another page will be merchandise this will allow fans of the film to buy merch such as hoodies and mugs. Another page will be the comic itself this will allow the audience to download the comic easily and have quick easy access to engage the reader. My last page will be about the actors in the film of Bionic Attack. I will also include two interactive elements one is the hyperlink to the movie trailer of bionic attack as well as my GUI of shopping basket which when you add products to basket there will show a number of the products added.

Client Needs:

The client Mega Movie they want a new and entertaining multimedia platform to promote their new sci-fi film Bionic Attack. There are a couple of needs that need to be met one of them being at least 6 pages/screens of the website and as a result I will stick to having 6 pages (homepage, merchandise, trailer, comic, actors, script writers). The two forms of interactivity include hyperlinks to the trailer so the audience have easy access to the film and the other hyperlink is to buying the merchandise on different tabs. Across the website I will also include multiple images of the scriptwriter and actors to help engage the reader. 

User Needs:

One need for the user is that it needs to able to navigate easy due to my target audience of 15-18 year olds they need easy navigation otherwise they will get bored and leave the website as well as this to make it a high quality website it needs to be able to click smoothly in between pages. Another need for the user is that it needs to be engaging this means that there needs to be interactive elements such as tabs and shopping carts and menus this helps keep the audience engaged and intrigued. Another need from the user is the colour scheme, pictures and fonts it all needs to look cohesive as well as linking thi the Sci- Fi genre this will make it look more appealing and aesthetic for the target audience. 

Delivery format:

In my website I will have 6 pages this allows for 6 different detailed pages about different aspects of the comic and the new film, this helps the audience to fully understand the two products as well as intriguing and exciting them to keep them engaged. I will be using at least 2 forms of interactivity one of which is a hyperlink for the trailer of the comic this allows for easy and quick access for the audience. Another form of interactivity is hyperlink from the merchandise as they can add merch to cart while they continue to shop. While the audience are on my page at the top of the screen there will still be the tabs from all the other pages this helps make the page more accessible for use.

Platforms for Use:

I need to ensure that my website can be easily accessible to use on both smartphones, tablet and laptops this means that it can be accessed when travelling on any device. In order to make sure that my website can be used on any device I need to think and plan how the layout would work on a large and small screen while still making sure there are 6 pages. The size between the laptop and the phone screen is massive and as a result need to make sure that the website is still appealing and fits the aesthetic.

Platform Budget:

I need to ensure I think about all the costs for the platform and make a budget to ensure I have the funds to create the website. One of the things I need to consider for the budget is the Domain name which is an address which identifies the website name and makes it more memorable for the audience. Another thing I need to consider is copyright issues anything I create on my website I need to ensure no one steals it so I copyright my own work as well as this if I want to use someone’s logo in my website I need to ask for permission otherwise I could be sued for copyright. I also need to consider royalties such as music used and hosting in my budget. 

Commercial Considerations:

I need to consider commercial ideas to add within my website such as sponsors this allows my website to work with other brands to help with brand exposure to increase wider audience as well as collaborating with other brands to have a reliable name. I also need to consider advertisement such as pop up adverts that will come up on my website make sure they link to the genre and theme of my website and therefore fits within the aesthetic. 

Design Ideas:

There are a lot of deisgn ideas to consider in order to make my website appeal to my target audience as well as making sure it fits with my genre of Sci-Fi and is aestheic. One of the things I need to consider is images in my website I will be including pictures of the earth and planets as well as other common Sci-Fi pictures, this will link the film and the comic. Another thing I need to consider is the colour scheme I want to include a scale of blues as well as some gold and dark colours to show the more mature target audience. Another thing I need to consider is fonts I will choose a font which is serif so its more high quality and appealing but also making sure that its easy to read for my target audience.

Graphical User Interface of the website:

The GUI  I will be using is a shopping basket icon in the right hand corner this will be consistent throughout my whole 6 pages this means people can add to their basket while still looking on different web pages. The icon will be a shopping basket and will be a dark and recognising on each web page and when people have merch in their basket it will show up with the number of items they have within their basket. I will also have social media icons for Instagram, TikTok and X this will allows users to easily recognise these icons and be able to follow the website on its social media platforms as they will have an easy and direct link

Optimisation needs: I need to make sure that my webiste is able to be used on a laptop, iPad and phone this as a result means its easily accessible on the go and therefore makes people more likely to use my website on the go. I will ensure that all images and links can be resized to fit all different devices.
